Equality, diversity and inclusion - it's about all of us!

At Sovereign, we are committed to promoting Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) within our workplace and in our service to customers. This commitment extends to our ongoing efforts to become an anti-racist organisation. We aim to foster an environment where every individual can feel they belong, be themselves and reach their full potential, all while providing exceptional service to our diverse range of customers.

Equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) means more to us than words on a page or screen. It's more than just legal compliance or discussing employee headcounts. For us it’s about people; it’s about building a workforce that reflects our diversity of our communities; it's about creating workspaces where everyone is treated fairly and according to their needs. It’s also about putting our customers’ needs first and meeting the variety of needs they have in the most effective and inclusive way.

We strive to be recognised as a fair and inclusive employer and landlord; and to be a force for change in equality, diversity and inclusion EDI topics.

We want everyone that works for us or who lives in our homes and communities to feel at home. It’s our shared responsibility to deliver this vision and it’s one that we’re all committed to achieving.

One way we do this is by running regular education and awareness sessions, touching on topics such as race, disability, LGBTQ+ inclusion at work, inclusive leadership and many other characteristics. This helps make sure our workforce are comfortable and confident navigating through a positive, diverse and inclusive culture. There's more to our EDI story and we'll continue to work hard on our EDI goals together.

We’ve been working hard to embed EDI into everything we do. Find out more below.
