Getting the most out of life

Housing for Older People is our service for residents over the age of 55. We offer studios, flats and bungalows for those who may want to re-size their living space or just re-organise their housing needs to get the most out of life.

We provide high-quality homes at 70 sites, with a high level of service through our dedicated team. Our schemes allow you to live comfortably, securely and independently, while knowing that assistance is there if you need it. Most of our schemes provide the added security of an emergency alarm call system, provided through our Careline service, which is monitored 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

How does it work?

You’ll live in a property which benefits from a designated Scheme Officer. The service also provides access to Locality Officers to help residents maximise independence in their home, and maintain safe and well-managed buildings that meet our health and safety standards.

Many schemes also benefit from shared communal facilities such as lounge, kitchen and laundry. Some also have guest room facilities, available to hire at a modest daily cost.

How can I apply?

Most local authorities now use a choice-based lettings scheme, which means that available properties are advertised through their website. You can search for, and bid on, any property you want, giving you much more choice.

Contact your local authority and register using their housing application form. They will assess your needs, looking at things like where you live now, and taking any medical or social requirements you have into account.
