Wildlife celebrated by over 150 local residents at Cleve Wood development
Local families were treated to a day to remember at Sovereign’s wildlife-themed community fun day at its Cleve Wood development. More than 150 guests from Bristol and the surrounding area came along and took part in an array of fun filled activities.
The event saw guests get stuck into an exclusive floral crown making workshop with Jolie’s Fleurs, face painting with BeePainted and sustainable wildflower seed bomb workshops with Thornbury Orchard Group.
But the show-stopper of the day was a visit from Loki the Barn Owl and his handler David Knowles from Owl Occasions who gave a very insightful talk about owls – and how they live in the wild.
Guests also enjoyed delicious food and drink from local suppliers, before taking part in a charity raffle to raise money for excellent causes.
Sovereign marked the end of its very successful wildlife-themed community fun day by making a £250 donation to the charity Young Minds, and the Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust.
Michelle Edwards, who took part in the raffle and was the winner of an annual pass to Bristol Zoo Project commented: “Wow, what an amazing prize! My boys are over the moon. We will visit the Wild Place Project all the time now. Thank you so much to Sovereign for a lovely day and incredible gift – even without winning a raffle prize, we have still had such a fantastic day.”
Lisa Moran, Sales and Marketing Director at Sovereign said: “The wildlife event has been a great day filled with excitement and community spirit. Cleve Wood is a vibrant neighbourhood with a real community feel, and today has captured the spirit of this perfectly. Wildlife and biodiversity have been key considerations when designing and building the scheme, so we are thrilled to have celebrated and learnt more about our local wildlife today with so many visitors.”
Cleve Wood is fast becoming a flourishing community. All homes benefit from a beautiful green landscaped environment interspersed with natural footpaths, on-site allotments, and provisions for local wildlife with the additions of bird boxes, sparrow terraces and bat boxes.
