Congratulations on your new home
Heritage Green is an exciting new community on the edge of Exeter, with good access to the existing amenities of Alphington and new facilities proposed as part of the wider development of Southwest Exeter which includes around 1,300 new homes, a school and community centre.
What’s nearby
The development lies off the Chudleigh Road, close to the A379. Exeter City Centre is an 11 minute drive providing a great selection of retail, employment, sport and leisure.
Local Community
The wider development is due to have a community building which is designed to include a sports hall, library, community hall and meeting space. However, this might take some time to come forward. In the meantime there are established community facilities you can benefit from; Alphington Village Hall runs a range of art and activity sessions to suit all ages. St Thomas Church Hall
also runs a range of regular activities and hosts a community larder.
If you can’t find an activity group close by that suits your needs, please get in touch and we might be able to help you set up your own!
Shopping
Exeter City Centre has an extensive range of shops and is only a short drive away but closer to home you’ll find supermarkets and a range of shops in Alphington. There is a local centre planned next to the new Matford Brook School which may include a convenience store, café and other retail outlets.
Education
The new Matford Brook Academy has been delivered as part of the wider development of South West Exeter and opened to Year 7 students in September 2024. It’s an all-through school providing nursery and pre-school through to secondary school places. In addition, Alphington Primary School is within easy reach and is rated as a good school by Ofsted. West Exe school is an alternative secondary school.
