Is it antisocial behaviour (ASB)?
This is a criminal offence. Please report it to the police immediately.
What you can do
- After you’ve talked to the police, please call us on 0300 5000 926 – you’ll need to let us know the name of the police officer you spoke to and your incident report number. We’ll work with you and the police on next steps.
- If you’d rather send us a written report, please fill in our ASB form
– we'll aim to respond to you within two working days.

- When you’ve reported it to the police, please call our Contact Centre team on 0300 5000 926. They’ll need to record your incident report number and the name of the police officer you spoke to. We may need to use this to speak to the police and you about next steps.
- If you’d rather send us a written report, please fill in our ASB form – we'll aim to respond to you within two working days.

SNG is committed to help prevent and reduce serious violence within our communities in co-operation with the Violence Reduction Partnership – and we have joined the national knife crime awareness campaign known as ‘Operation Sceptre’.
We want to support communities to feel safe and to help educate people on the importance of not carrying knives, reporting concerns and accessing support services when needed.
What is Hate crime?
A hate crime or incident is any behaviour which the victim or another person thinks is motivated by a prejudice or hate because of the victim’s difference (or perceived difference).

What you can do
- As well as contacting the police, you can also find help and support from the National Stop Hate UK website and 24 hour helpline on 0113 293 5100 or via email info@stophateuk.org.
- If you’ve spoken to the police, please call us with your incident report number and the name of the police officer you spoke to. We may need to use this to speak with the police and you on next steps.
- If you’d rather send us a written report, please fill in our ASB form – we'll aim to respond to you within two working days.

We may need to work with you and the police going forward and need to log your incident report number and the name of the police officer you spoke to. One of our Locality Officers will be dedicated to your case and they’ll work sensitively around what’s happened.
